I am proud to make the official announcement of the man I chose to be my campaign manager!

19 years ago, I was in my Sophomore year of high school, while simultaneously in my Freshman year of college, though it could also be construed as my Junior year because of how I tested into UVSC (now UVU). Marty was an assistant professor who shared an office with my psychology professor.

At the time when my mind was in a strange place of finding out who I was and what I was doing in college at 16, Marty became a mentor to me and helped me figure out all the questions I had been relentlessly asking myself. He did this not by telling me the answers, but by asking the right questions that would force me to find the answers.

Over the years Marty's mentorship grew into a strong friendship. I am glad to call him my longest standing friend. He has helped me tackle many interpersonal battles, as well as just being the person I call first when something major happens in my life. He has been there for all the ups and downs, and has been my biggest supporter the whole way.

Marty has many notable degrees; first he received his BA from Princeton University in history, specializing in 20th century U.S. history; he then gained an M.A. in education at Claremont Graduate University. His Certificate in Advanced Studies. in education came from Harvard Graduate School of Education before earning his Doctorate in Education from Boston University. He then proceeded to teach at two universities in Utah, preparing undergraduates to become secondary school teachers.

More than just being a mentor and a friend, I chose him to help guide me through this because of his incredible talents. He has recently returned to the world of high school, teaching several curriculum at that level, including those he created in AP U.S. history and U.S. History. He understands how America works in a way most people do not.

Not only is he my longest standing friend, he is the best man for the job. I couldn't think of anyone else I would want by my side. I made 1 and only 1 phone call looking for a campaign manager and I couldn't be more pleased with his acceptance.
